HOW TO USE FACEBOOK EFFECTIVELY

Facebook is either a stumbling block or a stepping stone!
Have you seen statements like this while you scroll your home page"You are all boring", You are all too quite for my liking". I believe vehemently that you have ran across this aforementioned statements for at least once or twice. I have ran across this words many times, I hear people say this every time I visit the cybercafe. I became inquisitive and wanted to ameliorate this problem. I want people to say" I love facebook". So I decided to write this little note. I believe you will find meaning as you read!

1.Reverence for God

When you are in the cyberspace, you are likely to be exposed to all sorts of information. Some positive, some negative. And as humans we are easily influence by what's embedded in our environ and in the cyberspace. Before I began writing this article, I recalled the story an old sage once told me about pornographic films. He said "In the ancient days, buying pornographic films was an uphill task. You have to plan for it just as thieves plan to rob a bank. You have be very cautious. You have to drive to the extreme side of the road, with your face cap covering your face completely, sneak quietly into the video house, buy and sneak out like a pussy cat" Today, there is nothing to write home about pertaining to pornographic films. Pornographic films had flood the streets and has become a normal thing. Even online as well.  To be an effective facebook user, we have to pay deaf ears and close our minds to certain things. The bible makes us to understand the power of influence, when it says in the book of proverbs "Guard your hearts with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life" Let your every view, click, comment be an act of worship to God. We need to close our eyes and minds to certain things. We may say we are grown-ups and have every right to decide on want to do-yes you have, but let me tell you something, negativity have detrimental effects on us. Never be carefree of every information that dominate your minds,  because they gradually bog us down. T.L osborn said" When we sin, something in us dies" Let every of your action be for God!

2.Respect People

In the study of Taxonomy in Biology, we learnt that all humans are are grouped as "Homo Sapiens". The word "Homo" means one, of the same. Truly I agree! We are One. Many people think that, the fact that we are far apart online presents a yardstick for them to behave and relate with people anyhow. Treat anyone you chat with, with some respect, because everyone deserves it-even you.Praise people(but sincerely), say positive things about people, make them feel loved and important. These are the ways of winning and influencing people. Never leave anyone the way you found them, add value, make a difference in the lives of people. Don't take anyone for granted, we are all one and the same. Remember, whatever goes around comes around and also, that one good turn deserves another. Take it a duty upon yourself to see everyone as important and respect them. When you begin to respect people and do all has been said in this article, you will always find meaning out of face book. people will also want to share ideas, plans with you. They will take you seriously and will want to do anything within their reach to reach you.

3.Chose your friend wisely

I believe you are familiar with the the slogan "Show me your friend, and I will show you whom you are" Your reference group play to a large extent your performance in life. I see no reason why we should pick friends without keeness.  I heard of how a chap lured his friend into scamming, and nemesis caught up with them. I have seen what bad companies have resulted to many people. So I urge to add friends with caution. Recently, I was deleting those friends who had never done more than posting nude pictures on facebook, saying gibberish, canvassing trivial matters. I have vowed to all ways surround myself with people with a positive vision, people who add meaning to my life. Don't be a litter bin where somebody will incessantly dump rubbish into your life. Hear what the holy book say "Bad company corrupt good manners"

4.Join Group and attend events!

I have always enjoyed my time on facebook ever since I cultivated the habit of joining Groups and attending events, it has always made me to keep coming to check what is new. I have learnt variety of things, meet great people who have help me in line with my purpose in life.  Joining a group of your interest poses a wide opportunity for success. Your learning and interaction rates triples. It enable  you to meet with people who have the same mindset like you. People who you can pool forces, ideas in synergy with. Joining a Group is one thing, being an active member is another thing. In any group you join be the best you can be. Be an active member. Visit the Discussion board  and links frequently. Participate actively, share what you know, ask questions and I tell you, if you keep doing these things, You will gradually awaken your potentials. Volunteer for events, make things happen. Read as many articles you find resourceful, download applications. With time you will be amazed at your performance. I will rather call a Group a "University online'" Get out of your comfort zone, join a group, attend an event today!

5.Add Value

The last way I will be discussing with you is Adding Value. Giving away for others to benefit. There is something inside of you that can act as a turning point in the life of another fellow. You may not value it, but it worth more than a million bucks for someone close to you.It is also said that everyone is a walking bag of potentials and gifts. Add value to the lives of people. Mark Zuckerberg became wealthy today because he added value to the lives of billions of people. He rather say"what is in it for them" than say"What is in it for me" He was not self-centered. It is in spending ourselves that we become rich. Mark at the age of 26 became so wealthy that he donated a huge amount of money to the orphanage home. Listen to what he asserted in one of his statements recently,“People wait until late in their career to give back. But why wait when there is so much to be done? With a generation of younger folks who have thrived on the success of their companies, there is a big opportunity for many of us to give back earlier in our lifetime and see the impact of our philanthropic efforts,” Zig Ziglar use to say "You will get all that you want out of life, if you help enough people get want they want" Think of how you can help someone, how you can add value in the life of your friends. West life sang"Somebody wants you" Yes someone really needs your aid. Create events, invite people over, pass information generously then you are you are better facebook user. Thanks and God bless you.
